10th Annual Tax Conference Highlights
Day 1
The 10th Annual Tax Conference officially kicked off at Elephant Hills Resort, Victoria Falls, bringing together tax professionals, business leaders, and policymakers under the theme “Sustaining Business Amid Rising Transparency & Accountability.” Delegates enjoyed networking opportunities, an optional Victoria Falls tour, and engaging opening remarks from WTS Tax Matrix Academy leadership. The day also featured an interactive focus group quiz and breakout discussions that encouraged collaboration and the exchange of ideas on emerging tax challenges. Proceedings concluded with the memorable Chipala Bush Dinner, setting the stage for insightful technical discussions in the days ahead.
Day 2
Day 2 focused on practical strategies for managing tax risk, improving compliance, and navigating an evolving regulatory environment. Delegates gained valuable insights into employee compensation structuring, tax and accounting updates, transfer pricing, customs valuation, and tax audit preparedness. Interactive panel discussions provided expert perspectives on building defensible tax positions and minimizing exposure. The afternoon featured sector-specific focus groups, allowing participants to discuss industry challenges and share practical solutions. The day ended with the vibrant Boma Dinner, offering delegates an opportunity to strengthen professional networks and continue conversations in a relaxed setting.
Day 3
The final day of the conference explored the future of taxation, tax reform, and digital transformation. Sessions examined tax incentives, VAT compliance in the digital age, and corporate income tax challenges facing businesses. A key highlight was the keynote address on ZIMRA’s digital transformation vision, followed by the official opening and keynote speech from the Ministry of Finance, Investment Promotion and Economic Development. Delegates also participated in a thought-provoking debate on tax policy and reform. The conference concluded with closing remarks, networking activities, and a Gala Dinner celebrating another successful Annual Tax Conference.
